For six years, we have been sending books to libraries within the country. However, the recent drastic change in media mail rates by the US Post Office has had the effect of stopping this project.  The one sure way of books reaching Myanmar is now by "hand carry".  If you know of anyone going into the country as a tourist, please ask them to consider taking a book box as part of their luggage.  Cetana and the recipients would be most grateful. Cetana’s Book Project supplies English language textbooks  and medical reference books published in 2000 or later for distribution through the Myanmar Library Association to college-level facilities and  to two medical schools. It also distributes literature, and English as a second language books to libraries in Myanmar. Preschool and early childhood books are sent to a local NGO whose work is to enhance early childhood educational opportunities.
